Known as the Alien Mountain, Danigala mountain is not only a place where you need to pay a visit to Aliens but for several reasons. Situated in the Maduruoya valley, it is a place you must pay a visit to in Sri Lanka.
The Mountain is situated in the Polonnaruwa district which is also known for sudden elevations in the flat land. The nearest village is known as Kandegama where you can get a rest while making it there. To get there, a tourist has to pass Mahiyanganaya, Dehiaththakandiya, and Aralaganvila towns in the Eastern part of the country. Although formal researches are being conducted in recent times, the place has been a popular center for UFOs and some similar things in this area.
Hiking Dhanigala mountain
There are mainly two things that you have to do when climbing up the mountain. The hard trekking and the observing of 360 degrees picturesque beauty around the area will be a nice combination to get to the top. After getting there the embracing results will be yours to enjoy. Although the aliens are not present, Dhanigala Mountain will be a nice place to spend a night observing the sky at night. Even if it is a night camp, that will be a perfect place not only on the island but from the whole world.
