Kadadora Vihara (Also known as Kadadora Sri Priyabimbaramaya Vihara) was a Buddhist temple, situated in Kothmale , Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka. The temple was abandoned and ruined as the construction of Kotmale Dam in 1979 by Mahaweli Development program. The ruins of Vihara still can be seen when the water level of Kotmale Reservoir is low, but the sight is very rare.
The Construction of the Buddha Home was started in 1897 and it was opened in 1905 and it has been rebuilt in 1937. But the legends say the Maliyadeva Arhath Tara is living in this temple. This means the history of this temple runs to the 2nd Century of BCE. The replacement of this temple has been built a few kilometers away from the Kothamale Dam. Which is situated in Riverside Village. Bodigaraya (The Bo tree protecting wall) and The Puujasanaya (flat-topped structure used for religious rites) Can be spotted few meters away from the Buddha statue.
