Pahiyangala
Pahiyanlena is a prehistoric site discovered by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has been a rich source for the studies of prehistoric humans in the world. Pahiyanlena or pahiyangala is a famous place among History students as well as tourists.
Pahiyangala LocationÂ
Pahiyangala is situated near Bulathsinhala. It is a town in Kalutara district which is a district of Western province. There are lots of places to visit in Kalutara and also many things to do as a traveler You can get to Kalutara or Bulathsinhala in lots of ways. It is not a long way from Colombo as this town is less than 100km from Colombo. There are lots of public transports as well as well-maintained roads to get here on your own vehicle. But, you will have to take extra effort to get to the site as the road is a bit narrow in the death part.
Phiyan Monk
Pahiyanlena’s name is derived from the name of a Chinese traveling monk who used to stay here. It is said he has been staying here for some time in his tour. The cave is situated in an elevated top which is about 250ft high. Pahiyan monk is not the only thing that made this place an important one.
